Methodology
The Life Expectancy Block is designed to assist in answering the question of how long you could expect to live. This answer is very helpful when trying to determine how long your money needs to last over your lifetime. In conjunction with 2012 IAM Basic Tables and smoking status, the program displays the likelihood of achieving a specific age. For married couples, in addition to determining you and your spouse’s own life expectancy, the program also displays the probability both you and your spouse will obtain a certain age along with the age one of you will obtain a specific age.
